Compensation Hours & Paid Absences
Your employees regularly receive credited hours, for example one compensation hour per week? There are two ways to handle this.
Option 1: Reduce target working hours (for the whole team)
Go to Profile → Target Working Hours, select the year and reduce the value of the affected month.
Example: instead of 160 hours in January, enter 156 hours.
For 45 hours per year that is roughly 3.75 hours per month – or you calculate per month based on the number of weeks (4 weeks = 4 hours).
💡 Important
Target working hours apply to the entire team. In addition, the monthly value is multiplied by the employment percentage: at 80 %, a reduction of 4 hours only credits 3.2 hours.
Option 2: Absence type "Compensation" (for individual employees)
If not all employees have the same entitlement, record the hours per person:
- Go to Settings → Absences and create an absence type with the plus icon (+), e.g. "Compensation"
- Record the hours in the Working Hours tab → calendar icon → plus icon (+) using that absence type
Absences count as worked time and only affect this one person.
Paid absences in general
Record sick leave, military service or training as an absence type – this time counts as working time and does not reduce the balance. Unpaid absences are simply not recorded. Vacation runs through the absence type "Vacation" and is counted against the vacation balance.
One-off correction
For a one-off credit, enter it directly in the overtime/undertime starting balance under Team → Employees.
